Pope Francis to meet Aid to the Church in Need’s delegates

  • A delegation of the International Pontifical Foundation, Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) will be meeting with the Holy Father Pope Francis on Thursday,  15th August 2019, in a gesture to pray for peace in solidarity with the Syrian people, console families who mourn the loss of their dearest ones and commemorate the victims of war. 

    During the audience, the Holy Father will bless 6,000 Rosaries for the families of the war victims in Syria, expressing his support and personal engagement for the upcoming celebration which Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) will be organizing together with the local Christian leaders in Syria on the Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows (September 15th) under the theme: “Console my people” (cf…

Pope writes to people of Genoa one year after collapse of Morandi Bridge

  • Almost a year has passed since the collapse of the Morandi Bridge, which caused the death of 43 people. Pope Francis remembers that tragic day in a letter sent to the Genoese newspaper “Il Secolo XIX”, also published in other newspapers of the group Gedi News Network.

  • Fi stqarrija, Caritas Malta sostniet li kulħadd għandu dritt għal dħul adekwat biex jgħix ħajja diċenti.

    Skont l-aħħar ċifri li ħareġ l-Uffiċċju Nazzjonali tal-Istatistika:

    • fl-2018 kien hemm 78,685 (16.8%) persuna li qed tgħix b’€8,868 fis-sena; dan ikkumparat ma’ 75,516 (16.7%) żieda ta’ 3,169 persuna mis-sena preċedenti

UMTAL returns from the annual pilgrimage to Lourdes

  • The Archdiocesan pilgrimage organised by the UMTAL Society has recently returned from their annual visit to the Holy Shrine at Lourdes. 170 pilgrims and volunteers were led on this religious journey by the Chaplain of the Society and Archbishop’s delegate, Fr Joseph Mizzi, parish priest of Santa Lucia. 

    A team of doctors, nurses, carers and lay persons volunteered to look after over 40 patients to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for the sick during the pilgrimage to Lourdes…
