Mgr Victor Grech passes into eternal life

Monsignor Victor Grech has peacefully passed into eternal life. Through his lifelong work, he played a pivotal role in changing the way Maltese society views and confronts issues such as drug addiction, alcoholism, poverty and social injustice.

Mgr Grech passed away today, Wednesday, 5th February 2025, at 9:58 am at Mater Dei Hospital, at the age of 95.

Archbishop Charles Scicluna, speaking for the Church in Malta, honoured Mgr Grech’s memory, describing him as “a priest and benefactor of the nation who dedicated his life to Caritas Malta and shaped its mission and vision for decades.”

Applications for Admission to Church Schools in Malta and Gozo 2025 – 2026

New principal appointed for Archbishop’s Minor Seminary School

Archbishop Charles Scicluna has appointed Fr Jean-Claude Schembri as the new Principal of the Archbishop’s Minor Seminary School in Tal-Virtù, Rabat. He succeeds Fr Mark Ellul, who has been appointed as the new Delegate for Catholic Education after serving as headmaster of the Minor Seminary School for 13 years.

The Archbishop’s Minor Seminary currently educates 800 students, providing education from the first year of primary to Year 11 of secondary school, and employs approximately 200 staff members… Read more »
