A hardworking man – Bishop Galea-Curmi

Mass on the feast of St Joseph the Worker

The Parish Church of St Joseph the Worker, Birkirkara

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

Il-vara sabiħa ta’ San Ġużepp Ħaddiem li hawn f’din il-parroċċa, li s-sena d-dieħla jaħbat il-50 sena minn meta waslet u ħarġet l-ewwel darba fil-purċissjoni, hi vara unika fost il-vari titulari ta’ pajjiżna għax hi l-unika waħda li turi lil San Ġużepp bħala ħaddiem. Meta tħares lejha, tinduna li diġà hemm messaġġ importanti ħafna għalina, għall-ħajja tagħna. Nixtieq li nħares biss lejn dettall partikulari ta’ din il-vara – iż-żewġ idejn ta’ San Ġużepp, par idejn bieżla, li juruk diġà min-naħa San Ġużepp li hu l-missier putattiv ta’ Ġesù, u min-naħa l-oħra San Ġużepp mastrudaxxa, San Ġużepp ħaddiem… Read more »

Il-parteċipanti ddiskutew tliet mistoqsijiet marbuta ma’ din il-proċess: x’inhu meħtieġ biex is-smigħ tal-Kelma jitpoġġa fiċ-ċentru u x’riżorsi hemm bżonn biex dan isir; x’inhu meħtieġ biex is-smigħ iwassal għal għaqda ikbar tal-komunità Nisranija u biex ikun hemm komunikazzjoni aħjar; u s-smigħ tar-realtà li jwassal ghal tweġiba pastorali kuraġġjuża li hi meħtieġa fis-sitwazzjoni tal-lum li ġiet affettwata daqstant mill-pandemija… Read more »

All employees are prohibited from receiving gifts worth more than €40.

Pope at Audience: Meditating is a way of encountering Jesus

Dear brothers and sisters, good morning!

Today we will talk about the form of prayer called meditation. For a Christian, to “meditate” is to seek meaning: it implies placing oneself before the immense page of Revelation to try to make it our own, assuming it completely. And the Christian, after having welcomed the Word of God, does not keep it closed up within him or herself, because that Word must be met with “another book”, which the Catechism calls “the book of life” (cf. Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2706)… Read more »
