The Grupp Flimkien Naslu is this year’s winner of the Mons Mikiel Azzopardi Award. Archbishop Charles Scicluna described Id-Dar tal-Providenza as a “monument to human dignity and to the solidarity of the Maltese,” as he visited the RTK103 studios ahead of its 60-hour marathon in aid of a charity that is marking its 60th anniversary this year.

The charity was kickstarted in late 1965 when Dun Mikiel Azzopardi’s wish for a residential facility providing dignified care for people with disabilities – expressed on his popular Rediffusion programme – encouraged a woman to donate Lm100 she had saved up for a vacation… Read more »
