On 12 September 1965, Mgr Michael Azzopardi used his Sunday Rediffusion programme Is-Siegħa tal-Morda to share an audacious dream: a home offering residential services to persons with disabilities in Malta. Before this date, he had already sought properties in Floriana, Gżira and Ħal Lija, but lacked the means to purchase one. Dar Sant’Anna in Senglea reopens to welcome persons with disabilities

After months of restoration, Dar Sant’Anna in Senglea has reopened its doors, this time as a residential home for persons with disabilities of different ages and abilities. Until a few years ago, this historic Church property served as a home for the elderly.
