“For a responsible vote promoting Christian values and the European project” – The EU Bishops

In view of the elections for the European Parliament to be held on 6-9 June 2024, the Commission of the Bishops’ Conferences of the European Union (COMECE), on 13 March 2024, issued a statement inviting all citizens, especially Catholics, to prepare for the elections and vote responsibly “promoting Christian values and the European project”

“We know that the European Union is not perfect and that many of its policy and legal proposals are not in line with Christian values and with the expectations of many of its people, but we believe  – state the EU Bishops – that we are called to contribute and improve it with the tools democracy offers us.”

Pope: The elderly are the ‘firm foundation’ of the future

Maltese Bishops congratulate Bishop Angelo Falzon

Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna, Bishop Anton Teuma and Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi welcome the appointment by Pope Francis of Fr Angelo Falzon as Bishop of the Diocese of Comayagua, Honduras.

The Archdiocese of Malta and the Diocese of Gozo are united in prayer for Bishop Falzon so that the Lord will help him in this new mission.

Jubilate Deo Choir’s 50th anniversary concert

The Jubilate Deo Choir, the choir of the Cathedral of the Archdiocese of Malta, will hold a concert to commemorate the 50th anniversary of its establishment on Wednesday, 15th May, at the Church of the Souls in Ħal Tarxien.

Book ‘Gilbert Simiana: In the Footsteps of Jesus’ launched

During the General meeting of MUSEUM, the book called ‘Gilbert Simiana: In the Footsteps of Jesus’ was launched. A biography researched and written by Stephen Zammit, a member of the Society.

Gilbert died two months shy of sixteenth birthday, and many paid witness to his holiness, especially during his sickness.

The Bishops of Malta and Gozo at the Vatican for their first ‘ad limina’ visit

The Bishops of Malta and Gozo left Malta today for a five-day ad limina Apostolorum visit at the Vatican, during which they will provide updates on the status of their respective dioceses. The bishops will have an audience with the Pope on Friday morning.
