God takes care of us – Bishop Galea-Curmi

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

Hemm kelma li Ġesù jgħidha b’enfasi fl-Evanġelju tal-lum: “tibżgħux”. Hi l-kelma li niltaqgħu magħha ħafna drabi fl-Iskrittura, speċjalment meta Alla jsejjaħ lil xi ħadd u jagħtih missjoni. Dejjem jgħidlu: “tibżax”. U Ġesù nnifsu użaha kemm-il darba mad-dixxipli tiegħu: “tibżgħux”.

Għalfejn Ġesù jgħid “tibżgħux” lid-dixxipli tiegħu? L-ewwel nett, għax aħna qegħdin taħt il-ħarsien ta’ Alla, li jieħu ħsiebna. U għalhekk ma għandniex għalfejn nibżgħu: għax hemm Alla li jieħu ħsiebna… Read more »

The recipe for a pure heart – The Archbishop

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

Ġesù jagħtina riċetta sabiħa għal qalb safja. Mhix kwistjoni ta’ kif nidhru, mhix kwistjoni ta’ x’jaħsbu fuqna n-nies. Dak kollu hu li jidher minn barra, imma hu l-qalb, il-qalb li Alla jafha, jaraha. Ħin minnhom jgħid: “U Missierkom li jara fil-moħbi, iroddulkom”. “Agħtu karità minn dak li hemm ġewwa, minn qalbek u taraw kif kollox ikunilkom nadif” (Lq 11:41).

L-Iskrittura wkoll tgħid li l-imħabba, il-karità, l-għajnuna lill-fqar tgħatti ħafna dnubiet… Read more »

The best sign – Bishop Galea-Curmi

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

Il-profeta Ġona hu dak li Ġesù jsemmi fil-bidu u fl-aħħar tal-Evanġelju tal-lum, u speċjalment jenfasizza s-“sinjal ta’ Ġona”. Dan għaliex kien qed jitkellem ma’ nies li riedu sinjal mingħandu. Issa hu kien diġà għamel ħafna sinjali, bil-mirakli li għamel. Imma dawn riedu sinjal spettakolari, xi ħaġa li tgħaġġeb lil kulħadd. U Ġesù jgħidilhom: ebda sinjal ma jingħata lil dan in-nisel ħlief is-sinjal ta’ Ġona… Read more »

Are you willing to share what you have with others? – The Archbishop

Mass on the 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time and on Grandparents Day

The Shrine of Our Lady of Atocia (Tas-Samra), Ħamrun

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

Dan ir-raġel li ltaqa’ ma’ Ġesù kien raġel tassew twajjeb; kien raġel għani, kif jgħidilna l-Evanġelju ta’ San Mark li għadu kemm qara Fr Andrew. Imma kellu wkoll l-għatx għall-ħajja ta’ dejjem. “Mgħallem tajjeb, x’għandi nagħmel biex nikseb il-ħajja ta’ dejjem?” (Mk 10:17). Donnu dan ir-raġel, għalkemm kien raġel li kellu ħafna flus, kellu x’aktarx għelieqi u ġid, kien jaf li din il-ħajja mhux għal dejjem, hemm ħajja li ma tispiċċa qatt, il-ħajja ta’ dejjem… Read more »

Caritas Malta and the Oasi Foundation in response to the Cannabis reform bill

Caritas Malta flimkien mal-Fondazzjoni Oasi, jinsabu ferm konċernati li l-proposta ta’ qafas legali ġdid għall-użu responsabbli tal-kannabis, kif ippreżentata mill-Ministru għar-Riċerka u l-Innovazzjoni Owen Bonnici, fis-6 ta’ Ottubru 2021, tmur oltrè minn dak li ġie ppreżentat fil-White Paper u jikkontempla wkoll id-distribuzzjoni tal-kannabis minn assoċjazzjonijiet għall-użu rikreattiv.
