Ritratti: Ian Noel Pace

The Archbishop’s Curia in Floriana hosted the launch of the book Casa Manresa in Floriana: A House of Formation. Edited by Rev. Dr Nicholas Joseph Doublet, the publication explores the spiritual, artistic, and pastoral legacy of Casa Manresa. Originally established as a Jesuit house of retreat, Casa Manresa later became Malta’s diocesan seminary. Today, it continues to serve the Church as the seat of the Archbishop’s Curia, a place of formation, leadership, and service.

The evening featured a series of reflections from several speakers who contributed to or supported the publication, including: Mr Michael Pace Ross, Rev. Dr Jonathan Farrugia, Prof. Petra Caruana Dingli, Prof. Ray Mangion, and Rev. Dr Nicholas J. Doublet (Editor).

The event concluded with an address by Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna, who welcomed the publication and thanked all those involved in preserving and sharing the legacy of Casa Manresa.

Special thanks were extended to KITE Publications for the book’s design and presentation, and to the contributing authors: Rev. Dr Nicholas J. Doublet, Theresa Vella, Suzannah Depasquale, Francis Bonnici, Michael Buhagiar, and the late Victor Bonnici. The book also features photography by Ian Noel Pace, Joseph Borg, Daniel Cilia, Valentina Lupo, Amy Sciberras, Manuel Ciantar, Suzanne Ciantar Ferrito, and Steven Mallia.

Published by the Archdiocese of Malta, Casa Manresa in Floriana: A House of Formation is now available from the Archbishop’s Curia. The book offers a unique insight into the story of a building that continues to play a central role in the life of the Church in Malta.
