The Theology Students’ Association (GhST) is once again organising its Annual Academic Evening in honour of St Thomas Aquinas under the distinguished patronage of Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. This event will be held at the Grand Ballroom, Hotel Phoenicia, Floriana on Wednesday 4th May 2011 at 19:00hrs.
Prof Sigrid Muller, Vice-Dean and Lecturer of Moral Theology at the Faculty of Catholic Theology at the University of Vienna will deliver a lecture on ‘Searching for Happiness’.
A reception will follow.
Prof Sigrid Muller studied Theology, Latin and Italian at Tübingen and at the Pontifical University Gregoriana at Rome. She holds also a Master’s degree in Family Counselling from the Catholic University of Salamanca. Her special research interests are the history of moral theology and bioethics with a focus on the ethics of technology. In 2008, she was appointed a Junior Member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and a member of the Curatorial Board of the Austrian Science Fund FWF.
Prof Muller will also be delivering the following lectures:
Thursday 5th May – ‘Creating New Forms of Life: Ethical Challenges of applying Synthetic Biology in a Medical Context’ at the University of Malta, New Anatomy Lecture Room (NALR), Biomedical Building at 10am.
Friday 6th May – ‘Between Spirituality and Morality: the Role of Charity in Late Medieval Moral Theology’ at the University of Malta, Gateway Building Hall E at 10.00am.
