We are publishing the statement on the Extraordinary Meeting of the Islamic-Catholic Liaison Committee, which took place on 10 July 2012. The Committee – established in 1995 by the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue and, on the Muslim side, by the International Islamic Forum for Dialogue – meets every year. On this occasion, beside the exchanging views and prospects for the future of relations between the two communities, a theme of mutual interest was proposed and discussed. From 1995 to 2012 there have been 17 such meetings. The statement was signed by Cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, President of the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue, and Prof. Dr Hamid bin Ahmad Al-Rifaie, President of the International Islamic Forum for Dialogue.
