On Friday, 27th August, 2010, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. celebrated Mass at Casa Leone in Saint Julians to celebrate the 100th birthday of three residents: Mary Caruana, Josephine Calleja and Jospehine Camenzuli.
Mary Caruana was born in Birgu on the 14th September 1910 and is the youngest of six siblings; three males and three females. Before moving to Casa Leone, Mary and her family lived in B’Buġia. During her time in B’Buġia, Mary looked after her parents.
Josephine Calleja nee’ Tabone was born in Rabat, Gozo, on the 27th of August, 1910. She was married to Vincent Callejja, who served as a legal procurator. They had five children of whom one lives abroad, two passed away and two live in Malta. Josephine has been residing in Casa Leone for the past 11 years.
Josephine Camenzuli was born in Gżira on the 31st August 2010. She was married to Carmelo Camenzuli. They had 6 children and is also a grandmother of 14. She has been living at the Casa Leone residence for the past two years.
