In the Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia (‘The Joy of Love’), Pope Francis writes that “the welfare of the family is decisive for the future of the world and that of the Church” (para. 31).
The Church in Malta will celebrate the family on the 30th October 2016 by organizing a day of activities at the Archbishop’s Seminary, Tal-Virtù. The day, which will start at 9.00 a.m. with the celebration of Mass by the Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna, includes sports for the family, animation for children, musical interludes and other activities. Through workshops, spaces dedicated to prayer, counselling services and confessions, the families are being called to discern the vocation of the family as a cradle of mercy and the basis for a healthy society.
On this day the Archbishop will present the Maltese translation of Amoris Laetitia so that it will serve as a practical guide to Maltese families and to Pastoral Operators, especially those who work in family ministry. Click here for more information.
