The annual concert by the band of the Armed Forces of Malta in aid of Id-Dar tal-Providenza on the occasion of the Week for Persons with Disability, is taking place at the Metropolitan Cathedral in Mdina on Friday, 7th December 2018, at 8pm. The vocal and instrumental concert, courtesy of the Metropolitan Chapter, will be under the distinguished patronage of the President of Malta, Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca and H.G. the Archbishop Mgr Charles J. Scicluna. During the concert the winner of the Mons. Mikiel Azzopardi Award 2018 will be announced.
The band of the Armed Forces of Malta will be under the direction of Mro Capt. Jonathan Borg with the participation of the Coro Bel Canto, directed by Mro Hermann Farrugia Frantz. The programme includes works by Theodore Moses Tobani, Pyotr IlyichTschaikovsky, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Arnold & Brown, Johann Sebastian Bach, Carlo Giuseppe Rossi, Kurt Hahn, Cesar Frank, Karl Jenkins and George Frideric Handel.
The main speaker who will address autism is Dr Alistair Degaetano.
Entrance to the concert is free and everyone is invited. Entrance tickets may be had by calling on 2145 2844 or by sending an email to [email protected]. Tickets may also be picked up from the Media Centre in Blata l-Bajda or from the Dar tal-Providenza’s office in St Paul Street, Valletta which is open Monday to Saturday between 9am and noon.
