L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

Kemm hija ta’ swied il-qalb xena fejn tara lil omm jew missier, xi ħadd mill-ġenituri li qed jibku lil uliedhom, għax ikunu tilfuhom! Aħna, bħalissa, meta naraw xeni mill-gwerer jew mill-konflitti – per eżempju, dawk l-ostaġġi li qegħdin miżmumin f’Gaża, u l-familji tagħhom; per eżempju, in-nies ta’ Gaża, tant tfal li spiċċaw mejta jew midruba – meta tara omm jew missier li għandhom xi ħadd minn uliedhom mejjet, hi xena tassew ta’ qsim il-qalb! … Read more »

“Għax jekk minħabba fil-ħtija ta’ wieħed waħdu saltnet il-mewt, permezz ta’ dak il-wieħed, aktar u aktar dawk li jirċievu l-kotra tal-grazzja u d-don tal-ġustizzja għad isaltnu fil-ħajja permezz ta’ wieħed li hu Ġesù Kristu” (Rum 5:17).

Din il-kelma li għadna kemm smajna mill-Appostlu Missierna San Pawl lir-Rumani, tiddikjara bla tlaqliq  li l-esperjenza ta’ Ġesù , għalina li nemmnu u li nħobbuh minkejja d-dgħufija tagħna, hija esperjenza ta’ grazzja… Read more »

“Sliem għalik, O Salib, l-unika tama tagħna”. Din l-iskrizzjoni, li hi meħuda minn innu antik li nkiteb fis-seklu 6 – Vexilla Regis – hi skrizzjoni li nsibuha f’diversi postijiet taħt is-salib ta’ Ġesù, taħt il-kurċifiss. U fl-Istorja tal-Knisja kienet skrizzjoni li tesprimi l-iktar missjoni importanti ta’ ċerti gruppi, bħall-Kongregazzjoni tas-Salib Imqaddes, li għażlu din bħala motto… Read more »

Building on the legacy of Mgr Mikiel Azzopardi: sixty years on

Photo: Archdiocese of Malta- Ian Noel Pace

Before this date, he had already sought properties in Floriana, Gżira and Ħal Lija, but lacked the means to purchase one. He then considered building on the outskirts of Siġġiewi, where the Maltese Catholic Action rented premises for children’s summer camps—on condition that he secured enough donations… Read more »
