In those days, Jesus revealed himself again to his disciples at the Sea of Tiberias. He revealed himself in this way. Together were Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus, Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, Zebedee’s sons, and two others of his disciples. What invitation are we going to give Jesus? – The Archbishop to the confraternities

Penitential Pilgrimage in the Jubilee of Confraternities offered for the repose of Pope Francis

The Parish Church of St Catherine, Żejtun

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

Bħal dawn iż-żewġ dixxipli, aħna wkoll qegħdin f’pellegrinaġġ. Dan il-pellegrinaġġ tradizzjonali, antik, li huwa talba, u fl-istess ħin att ta’ penitenza; li nagħmlu proprju bħad-dixxipli ta’ Għemmaws. Huma kienu raw lil Ġesù imsallab, u semgħu wkoll bl-aħbar tal-Irxoxt tiegħu; imma ma emmnuhiex, u telqu minn Ġerusalemm. Huwa Ġesù stess li ssieħeb magħhom fit-triq, jitkixxef x’hemm fil-qalb tagħhom. Għajnejhom kellhom xi jżommuhom, u ma setgħux jagħrfuh… Read more »

Fr Fabio Attard’s visit to the Maltese Islands postponed

Fr Eric Cachia ħabbar li wara konsultazzjoni bir-reqqa ma’ Fr Fabio Attard u l-Vigarju tiegħu, ġie miftiehem flimkien li tiġi posposta ż-żjara tar-Rettur Maġġur f’Malta u Għawdex fid-dawl taċ-ċirkostanzi attwali.

Din id-deċiżjoni ttieħdet hekk kif il-Papa ħalla d-dinja jum biss wara l-Għid il-Kbir fl-età ta’ 88 sena.

L-aħħar dehra ta’ Papa Franġisku fil-pubbliku kienet proprju fl-Għid il-Kbir hekk kif inħareġ fil-gallarija biex jawgura l-Għid it-Tajjeb lill-Knisja Universali bil-barka Urbi et Orbi… Read more »

The disciples of Jesus recounted what had taken place along the way, and how Jesus was made known to them in the breaking of bread. Our Shepherd’s testament: Love, mercy and the Joy of the Gospel

Mass offered for the repose of Pope Francis

  St John's Co-Cathedral, Valletta

Homily by Archbishop Charles Jude Scicluna

“Woman, why are you weeping?” (Jn 20:13). This is the question that the angels—and even Jesus himself—pose to Mary Magdalene. It is a question we must also answer today. Why are you weeping?

A wise man once said that sorrow and mourning, especially in the face of death, are the price we pay for love. When someone we have truly loved is no longer with us, our grief is a natural, almost instinctive expression of that love… Read more »
