The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Ilkoll laqgħu kliemu u stagħġbu għall-kliem mimli ħlewwa li kien ħiereġ minn fommu” (Lq 4:22). Din kienet l-ewwel reazzjoni tan-nies dak inhar li Ġesù daħal fis-sinagoga, tawh il-ktieb tal-Profeta Isaija, u hemm sab dik is-silta li qara u li applikaha għalih. Kienet silta li titkellem fuq il-missjoni tiegħu.

In-nies semgħuh u lkoll laqgħu kliemu u stagħġbu bil-kliem mimli ħlewwa tiegħu… Read more »

From the abundance of the heart – Bishop Galea‑Curmi

  Apap Institute, Santa Venera

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Kienu qegħdin jieklu b’idejhom mhux indaf” (Mk 7:2). Dan hu l-ilment li jagħmlu l-Fariżej u xi wħud mill-kittieba lil Ġesù fuq id-dixxipli tiegħu. Qagħdu jinnutawhom, u ndunaw li dawn kienu qegħdin jieklu b’idejhom mhux indaf, jiġifieri mhux maħsulin.

Issa meta aħna nħarsu lura lejn dawn is-snin li għaddew, żgur li tolqotna kemm huwa importanti li naħslu idejna qabel l-ikel u f’mumenti oħra, biex inħarsu s-saħħa tagħna u biex ma nxerrdux mikrobi… Read more »

A new life grows from the wounds – Bishop Galea-Curmi

Parish Church of St. Francis of Assisi, Qawra

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Ngħid għalija ma jkun qatt li niftaħar jekk mhux bis-salib ta’ Sidna Ġesù Kristu li bih id-dinja hija msallba għalija u jien għad-dinja” (Gal 6:14). Dan il-kliem mill-Ittra ta’ San Pawl lill-Galatin għexu San Franġisk matul il-mixja ta’ ħajtu, bl-għażliet li għamel kontinwament, u hu kliem li ġie ssiġillat b’mod speċjali bl-għoti tal-Istimmati – il-pjagi li hu rċieva fuq il-Muntanja La Verna madwar sentejn qabel ma miet… Read more »

“We are grateful for the work of Rev. Anġ”

Fr Cyril Axelrod (it-tieni mix-xellug) flimkien ma’ Dun Anġ Seychell (It-tielet mix-xellug). Nota ta’ apprezzament minn Dun Martin Micallef

Dun Anġ Seychell kien saċerdot intelliġenti, eżemplari u b’kuxjenza soċjali kbira li dehret l‑aktar meta għażel li jiftaħ id‑dar tiegħu stess biex jospita persuni b’diżabilità. Hu xtaq joffri lil dawn il‑persuni l‑opportunità li jgħixu f’dar fil‑komunità fejn jistgħu jgħixu ħajja indipendenti li tirrispetta d‑drittijiet u d‑dinjità tagħhom. Dun Anġ irnexxielu li minn dar waħda jiftaħ erbat idjar f’raħal twelidu fiż‑Żejtun… Read more »

A celebration of God’s decision to create

As the Church celebrates the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation on September 1, Indian Bishop Allwyn D’Silva, Chairman of the Federation of Asian Bishops Conferences’ Office of Human Development, reflects on the importance of praising God for His marvellous gift of Creation.
