In those days, Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found him about whom Moses in the law and also the prophets wrote, Jesus son of Joseph from Nazareth.” Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” When Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him, he said of him, “Here is truly an Israelite in whom there is no deceit!” Nathanael asked him, “Where did you get to know me?”

Jesus answered, “I saw you under the fig tree before Philip called you.” Nathanael replied, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! … Read more »

Two new icons inaugurated for the Dominican Church of the Annunciation, Vittoriosa

Il-Patrijiet Dumnikani tal-Birgu inawguraw żewġ ikoni kbar biex iżejjnu il-Knisja tal-Lunzjata u San Duminku tal-Birgu l-Ħadd 18 ta’ Awwissu.

Dawn l-ikoni jirrapreżentaw lill-Madonna tal-Gandlora u tal-Qalb ta’ Ġesu’. Din il-Madonna għandha rabta storika mal-knisja tad-Dumnikani tal-Birgu, minħabba li l-Ikona orġinali kienet inġiebet min Rodi mill-Kavallieri tal-Ordni ta’ San Ġwann. Din l-ikona kienet intilfet fl-attakki mill-ajru fuq il-knisja ta-Dumnikani tal-Birgu fit-Tieni Gwerra Dinjija fl-1941… Read more »

Truly sublime – Bishop Galea‑Curmi

  Żebbuġ, Gozo

L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Terra sublimis”. Dawn iż-żewġ kelmiet huma l-motto ta’ dan il-post, iż-Żebbuġ Għawdex, u jfissru li hi art li qiegħda fuq għolja. Imma l-kelma “sublimis” ma tfissirx biss “li qiegħda fuq għolja”, imma għandha tifsira oħra li naħseb tgħodd ħafna għal dan il-post, u partikolarment għal din il-knisja, li hi knisja sublimi, knisja sabiħa. Nitkellem b’mod partikulari fuq l-istatwa ta’ Marija Assunta li ġiet fl-1863 minn Marsilja, u l-kwadru li llum qegħdin nagħmlu ċ-ċelebrazzjoni tal-44 anniversarju mill-inkurunazzjoni tiegħu – il-kwadru li juri lit-Trinità tinkuruna lil Marija… Read more »
