Restoration works to be carried out in 7 churches around Malta

Oġġetti ta’ wirt kulturali differenti f’seba’ knejjes madwar Malta se jkunu qed jiġu rrestawrati permezz ta’ skema tal-Gvern.

Din l-iskema qed titmexxa mill-Kunsill Malti għall-Arti b’kollaborazzjoni mad-Dipartiment tar-Restawr u l-Preservazzjoni u kienet miftuħa għall-organizzazzjonijiet kulturali u organizzazzjonijiet volontarji.

L-oġġetti ta’ ċertu wirt jinkludi proprjetà kulturali immobbli interna u esterna, bħal artali, dekor arkitettoniku, xogħlijiet tal-arti, dekorazzjonijiet u elementi oħra.

Is-seba’ proġetti li se jibbenefikaw minn din l-iskema huma:

  • Għaqda Dilettanti Knisja ta’ Lapsi, San Ġiljan – Introibo ad Altare Dei: Restawr u Konservazzjoni tal-Artali fil-Knisja l-Qadima tal-Parroċċa ta’ San Ġiljan
  • Fondazzjoni għall-Patrimonju Kulturali tal-Arċidjoċesi ta’ Malta – Restawr tal-Artal tal-Kappella ta’ Sant’Anna: Knisja tal-Ġiżwiti, Valletta
  • Soċjetà Storiko Kulturali Vittoriosa – Konservazzjoni u Restawr tal-pittura tal-Artal tal-Assunzjoni tal-Verġni Mqaddsa Marija
  • Fondazzjoni Patrimonju Siġġiewi – Restawr tal-pittura tal-Madonna Immakulata
  • Soċjetà Dun Filippu Borgia – Restawr tal-arloġġ fil-Knisja ta’ San Pawl, Birkirkara
  • Għaqda Mużikali Sant’Andrija, Luqa – Restawr tal-bibien li jinsabu fil-faċċata tal-Knisja
  • Fondazzjoni Wirt Kulturali Vittoriosa: Restawr tal-Bradella tal-Istatwa ta’ San Lawrenz

Archbishop appeals for everyone to respect institutions, and one another

In an appearance on RTK103 programme Għal Kulħadd, presented by Christine Delicata, the archbishop also stressed that people accused of a crime were presumed innocent until proven otherwise, urging the public to respect this presumption.

Carlo Acutis to be canonized after the 2nd miracle was recognized

A declaration issued today, 23 May 2024 from the Vaticans’ Dicastery for Saints’ Causes, has announced that another miracle has been attributed to the intercession of Carlo Acutis (1991-2006), meaning he will be canonized.

The miracle involved the healing of a girl from Costa Rica, living in Florence, Italy, who fell from her bicycle at age 11 and incurred a severe head injury. She was taken to the hospital, where her skull was opened to relieve pressure on the brain, but her situation was critical… Read more »
