L-omelija tal-Isqof Joseph Galea-Curmi

“Imbierka inti fost in-nisa, u mbierek il-frott tal-ġuf tiegħek!” (Lq 1:42) F’din is-sentenza,
f’dawn il-ftit kelmiet ta’ Eliżabetta, għandna t-tifsira tal-festa li qed niċċelebraw illum taż-
Żjara ta’ Marija lil Eliżabetta. Kienet Marija li marret iżżur lill-kuġina tagħha hekk kif
irċeviet l-aħbar mingħand l-anġlu. U meta tidħol id-dar, jgħidilna l-Evanġelju skont San
Luqa, Eliżabetta “mtliet bl-Ispirtu s-Santu” (Lq 1:41), u tinfexx f’għajta kbira u tgħid:
“Imbierka inti fost in-nisa, u mbierek il-frott tal-ġuf tiegħek!”

Fil-fatt, hawnhekk f’din il-ġrajja, għandna żewġ ommijiet li t-tnejn li huma għandhom tarbija fil-ġuf… Read more »

Psalm: 12:2-6

Gospel: Luke 1:39-56

In those days Mary set out and went with haste to a Judean town in the hill country, where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the child leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And why has this happened to me, that the mother of my Lord comes to me? For as soon as I heard the sound of your greeting, the child in my womb leaped for joy. And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfilment of what was spoken to her by the Lord.”

And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, for he has looked with favour on the lowliness of his servant… Read more »

In-service course for the Clergy 2024

Il‑Knisja u s‑saċerdot kif jistgħu jkunu strument ta’ tama u fejqan fis‑soċjetà? Kif iħossu s‑saċerdot quddiem il‑ġrieħi tal‑persuni li jiltaqa’ magħhom? The Gospel of the day: 30th May

Readings of the day

First Reading: 1 Peter 2:2-5,9-12
Psalm: 99 (100):2,3,4,5

Gospel: Mark 10:46-52

In those days, as Jesus together with his disciples and a large crowd were leaving Jericho, Bartimaeus son of Timaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the roadside. When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Many sternly ordered him to be quiet, but he cried out even more loudly, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

Jesus stood still and said, “Call him here.” And they called the blind man, saying to him, “Take heart; get up, he is calling you.” So throwing off his cloak, he sprang up and came to Jesus. Then Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man said to him, “My teacher, let me see again.” Jesus said to him, “Go; your faith has made you well.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the way… Read more »
