Reflection for the Seventh Sunday of Easter by Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi

Let’s celebrate the reality that God is with us – The Archbishop

Mass on the feast of the Ascension of the Lord

The Old Church of Our Saviour, Ħal Lija

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

Aħna l-bnedmin nassoċjaw it-tluq ta’ xi ħadd għażiż ma’ mument ta’ niket. Niftakarni ċkejken immorru l-ajruport kull darba li kienu jiġu l-qraba tagħna msefrin biex narawhom sejrin. Fi tfuliti kont tista’ titla’ fil-gallerija biex tarahom anke telgħin l-ajruplan u kien ikun mument ta’ qsim il-qalb. Daqskemm kien ikun kbir il-ferħ li tilqa’ lil xi ħadd li ilek ma tarah, daqshekk kien ikun ta’ swied il-qalb u ta’ tbatija l-mument li terġa’ tinfired minn xi ħadd għażiż… Read more »

Joy that no one takes from us – Bishop Galea Curmi

The Chapel of Our Lady of Manresa at the Archbishop's Curia, Floriana

✠ Joseph Galea-Curmi
    Isqof Awżiljarju

“Il-ferħ tagħkom ħadd ma jeħodhulkom” (Ġw 16:22). Dan hu li jgħid Ġesù lid-dixxipli tiegħu, fl-Evanġelju skont San Ġwann. Hawnhekk qiegħed fl-Aħħar Ċena. Jolqotna dan il-kliem, kif jitkellem fuq il-ferħ meta hu l-waqt ta’ dwejjaq, ta’ niket, u mument iebes ħafna għal Ġesù. Fil-fatt, ftit wara Ġesù kien se jkun arrestat, imbagħad jgħaddi mill-passjoni u mill-mewt tiegħu.

Hawnhekk jgħid lid-dixxipli tiegħu: “intom għad tibku u tingħu… għad iġarrbu n-niket”… Read more »

Life Network: New IVF amendments do not secure healthy babies

Statement by Life Network Malta

Government’s proposal to introduce embryo selection in the IVF procedure is nothing short of eugenics, as such methods do not deliver a “healthy baby” but provide a tool to enable the selection of which baby will live and which baby will be frozen in perpetuity.

Every embryo created through an IVF cycle is a distinct human being.  Under the proposed procedure every embryo will be tested for possible monogenic disorders… Read more »

Using our wealth to continue the Lord’s mission – The Archbishop

Mass on the feast of Our Lady of Charity

The Collegiate of St Paul's Shipwreck, Valletta

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles Jude Scicluna

L-ewwel instint ta’ Marija wara t-tħabbira tal-anġlu, fir-rakkont li jagħtina Luqa, hu “li qamet u marret tħaffef lejn l-għoljiet, f’belt tal-Lhudija” (Lq 1:39) biex tiltaqa’ ma’ Eliżabetta. L-Evanġelju li għadna kemm smajna jibda b’dan il-mument, b’din id-deċiżjoni ta’ Marija. Nafu u niftakru li l-anġlu Gabrijel lil Marija taha sinjal; li dak li kien qed jgħidilha, u dak li kienet wegħedha, mhux biss kien iseħħ imma kien ser iseħħ bil-qawwa ta’ Alla… Read more »
