Somma rekord ta’ €1,365,556 inġabret waqt il-Festa ta’ Ġenerożità organizzata mid-Dar tal-Providenza fl-ewwel tas-sena l-ġdida. Bħal kull sena, għadd ta’ parroċċi f’Malta u Għawdex organizzaw ġabriet speċjali li mbagħad ingħataw lid-Dar f’isem il-komunità parrokkjali.

Id-Direttur tad-Dar tal-Providenza, Fr Martin Micallef, qal li din il-Festa ta’ Ġenerożità bħal dejjem uriet il-qalb kbira tal-poplu Malti u Għawdxi li għal darb’oħra wera solidarjetà u ġenerożità mad-Dar… Read more »

He is the one of whom I said, ‘A man is coming after me who ranks ahead of me because he existed before me.’ I did not know him, but the reason why I came baptising with water was that he might be made known to Israel.”

Mass on the Solemnity of Mary Mother of God and the World Day of Peace

  Dar tal-Providenza, is-Siġġiewi

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles J. Scicluna

Nirringrazzjakom ħafna talli nġbarna hawnhekk biex nibdew is-sena l-ġdida 2020 taħt il-ħarsien tal-Mulej u b’mod speċjali ta’ omm Ġesù, Marija.

Nixtieq ukoll insellem lis-Sorijiet tal-Karità li qdew b’tant ġenerożità lil din id-Dar għal dawn l-aħħar 52 sena u nitolbu li t-togħma ta’ tjubija, it-tbissima li ħallew mmarkata fuq kull ħajt ta’ dan il-bini, tibqa’ tagħti togħma ta’ umanità lil din l-inizjattiva… Read more »

Building society on the principles Jesus taught us: the principles of righteousness, solidarity and mercy – The Archbishop

Thanksgiving End of Year Mass

  St John's Co-Cathedral, Valletta

L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles J. Scicluna

“Hekk huma jsejħu ismi fuq ulied Iżrael u jiena nberikhom” (Num 6:27). Il-barka li Mosè jitlob flimkien ma’ Aron u permezz ta’ Aron fuq ulied Iżrael, tuża wkoll din l-espressjoni: “Isejħu isem Alla fuq ulied Iżrael u Alla jberikhom”.

Xi tfisser li inti ssejjaħ isem Alla fuq uliedek? Tfisser li tirrikonoxxi l-primat ta’ Alla fuqek u fuq uliedek u tifhem ukoll li dak li se jmexxik huwa minn Alla u skont ir-rieda tiegħu… Read more »

Message by Pope Francis for the celebration of the 53rd World Day of Peace

Message by Pope Francis for the celebration of the 53rd World Day of Peace

Messaġġ mill-Papa Franġisku

1. Peace, a journey of hope in the face of obstacles and trial

Peace is a great and precious value, the object of our hope and the aspiration of the entire human family. As a human attitude, our hope for peace is marked by an existential tension that makes it possible for the present, with all its difficulties, to be “lived and accepted if it leads towards a goal, if we can be sure of this goal, and if this goal is great enough to justify the effort of the journey”. Hope is thus the virtue that inspires us and keeps us moving forward, even when obstacles seem insurmountable… Read more »
