Travelling to Floriana these last weeks, my eyes fell on a billboard depicting a large ftira, a typical Maltese bread, close to Portes des Bombes. It is meant to rally people behind the application of the Cultural Directorate so that this ftira will be included in UNESCO’s Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
I’m no Gordon Ramsay, and the words on the billboard might sound a bit high-flown for such humble fare, but I like the idea of having the Maltese ftira on such a list…
