Jesus said to his disciples: “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat; but if it dies, it produces much fruit. Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will preserve it for eternal life.

Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there also will my servant be…

Fit-tliet rakkonti tat-Trasfigurazzjoni li nsibu fl-Evanġelju, kull evanġelista jipprova jispjega x’ġara bl-istil u l-mod tiegħu. Meta niġbru t-tliet rakkonti flimkien (ta’ Mattew, Mark u Luqa), niġbru ħafna informazzjoni biex nippruvaw nifhmu x’ġara fuq it-Tabor dakinhar li l-Mulej ħa miegħu tliet xhieda għeżież għalih; l-ewwel żgħażagħ li sejjaħ għal warajh, weħidhom, u tela’ fuq il-muntanja u aħna ngħidu “tbiddel quddiemhom” jew kif nużaw ukoll fit-titlu għażiż tal-parroċċa tagħna: ‘ġie trasfigurat quddiemhom’…

At that time Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And behold, a Canaanite woman of that district came and called out, “Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is tormented by a demon.” But he did not say a word in answer to her.

His disciples came and asked him, “Send her away, for she keeps calling out after us.” He said in reply, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” But the woman came and did him homage, saying, “Lord, help me.” He said in reply, “It is not right to take the food of the children and throw it to the dogs.” She said, “Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the table of their masters.”

Then Jesus said to her in reply, “O woman, great is your faith! …
