Session 3 – The family as a community of hospitality

The Cana Movement is currently presenting a series of talks inspired by the Apostolic Exhortation Familiaris Consortio of Pope John Paul II, in which the Pope outlines four fundamental tasks which the Christian family is to undertake.  The first task is for the family to form a community of persons, in mutual self-giving; secondly, the family is to serve life in its transmission, both physically, in bringing children into the world and spiritually, by handing on their values and traditions throughout its life cycle This month’s talk will focus upon the third task assigned to the family: to participate in the development of society by becoming a school of social life, a community of hospitality and becoming politically active… Read more »

On Sunday 13th January 2013, at the Divine Mercy Sanctuary, San Pawl Tat-Tarġa, Naxxar, the Spiritual Development Unit within the Secretariat for Education organized a Mass for Church school representatives, celebrating the Year of Faith. Mass was celebrated by Bishop Charles J. Scicluna, accompanied by school spiritual directors and animated by a choir formed by students from different Church schools. Pope in St Peter's Square

Appearing at his study window at midday Sunday, Pope Benedict greeted thousands of pilgrims gathered under drizzling rain in Saint Peter’s Square. In his remarks at the Angelus prayer, the Pope spoke of Sunday’s Feast of the Baptism of the Lord and invited Catholics to “contemplate our share in the divine life through the gift of the Holy Spirit in the waters of Baptism.”

Holy Land

Bishops from North America and Europe have concluded their annual pilgrimage of solidarity to the Christians of the Holy Land with an appeal for prayers for peace.

The Church Authorities have published a document about the procedures to be followed in cases of breaches of the regulations for the admission to Church schools.

Two years ago, the Church Authorities revised the admission procedures into Church schools. This brought about a new level of transparency and justice.
