ARCHBISHOP VISITS PEMBROKE CATECHETICAL CENTRE AND VARIOUS COUNCILS AND COMMISSIONS

On Tuesday 20th March 2012, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. visited the Catechetical centre of Pembroke, as part of his pastoral visit to the parish. He then met with the Catechetical Commission, the Parish Pastoral Council, the Parish Economical Commission and the Commission for the Implementation of the Synod, at the Parish Office of Pembroke.

HOPES GROW FOR CARDINAL VAN THUAN’S BEATIFICATION

The Church in Vietnam expressed hope for Cardinal Van Thuan’s speedy beatification.

NEW ECCLESIASTICAL DIRECTORY

A new edition of the Ecclesiastical Directory for 2012 with over 500 pages of updated information in Maltese and English about the organization, including structures and entities of the Archdiocese of Malta, has just been published.

The Directory includes detailed information about the number of parishioners and families; Masses on Sundays and Feast Days, as well as during the week; processions; the names of the religious associations and movements represented in the various parishes; the number of Baptisms, First Holy Communions, Confirmations, Marriages and Funerals held in the previous year in every parish; and small churches or chapels where marriages can be celebrated… Read more »

DISCERN PUBLIC LECTURE

REPORT DOCUMENTS ANTI-CHRISTIAN PREJUDICE, INCLUDING LAWS, IN EUROPE

A church-backed report has documented rising anti-Christian prejudice in Europe, despite calls for fairer legislation and measures to curb discrimination.

JOURNALISTS AND SEMINARIANS PARTICIPATE IN A THINK-TANK DISCUSSION

On Tuesday 20th March 2012, the Archbishop’s Seminary organized a Think-Tank, for seminarians to discover the way in which the priesthood is looked upon by journalists, who are considered to be in touch with the views embraced by society.
