News from the Church in Malta
As from today, Tuesday 10th January 2012, parish priests hailing from the 70 parishes in Malta, are attending a three-day Live in, together with Archbishop Paul Cremona OP. The theme chosen for this year’s Live-in is “The Maltese Diaspora and the Church’s role as a beacon”.

On Saturday 7th January 2012, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. celebrated Mass on the occasion of the opening of his pastoral visit in the parish of St. Joseph the Worker, Birkirkara and afterwards met with the people.

January Pope's prayer intentions
Benedict XVI will be praying this month for the victims of natural disasters.
The Apostleship of Prayer announced the intentions chosen by the Pope for January.
His general intention is “that the victims of natural disasters may receive the spiritual and material comfort they need to rebuild their lives.”
The Pontiff’s mission intention is focused on peace: “That the dedication of Christians to peace may bear witness to the name of Christ before all men and women of good will.”
