NEW PUBLICATION BY POPE BENEDICT XVI PRESENTED TO PRESIDENT GEORGE ABELA

On Friday 21st Ocotber 2011, Mgr Tommaso Caputo, Apostolic Nuncio and  Fr Paul Darmanin presented President George Abela the Maltese translation of the book  ‘Jesus of Nazareth Vol II’ written by Pope Benedict XVI. The presentation ceremony was held  at San Anton Palace, Attard.

THE SACRIFICE OF THE EUCHARIST

This DVD concentrates  on what it means to call Christ the’Lamb of God’. Tony Mahoney researched the subject in the Old and New Testament with the help of some very good books, and put the material together in a beautiful and telling way.

Responsible for the production were: Joe Gatt for originating the idea of a five minute Catechesis before the Saturday / Sunday Masses; Tony Mahoney  for the text, for the choice of music, and for the reading; Peter Gatt for the research done for the illustrations and graphics;  Patrick Spiteri for the artistic photos of the Mass; Marika Gatt for the sound recording and for the overall professional eye; and Kurt Mahoney for the Lightscribing… Read more »

ARCHBISHOP VISITS RABAT CATECHISM CENTRE AND COMMUNITIES OF SISTERS

On Wednesday 19th October 2011, Archishop Paul Cremona O.P. met the children who attended catechism at the Catechism Centre in Baħrija.

On Thursday 20th October 2011, the Archbishop met the Community of the Sisters of St.Dorothy and later on he met the Community of the Children of the Sacred Heart, in Rabat.

STATEMENT BY THE MISSIONARY SOCIETY OF SAINT PAUL

The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, yesterday, Monday 17th October 2011, informed the Superior General of the Missionary Society of Saint Paul about its decision with regards to Fr Godwin Scerri’s case.

The decision of the Congregation is that Fr Godwin Scerri is guilty of abuse and as a consequence has been dismissed from the clerical state though he remains a member of the Missionary Society of Saint Paul… Read more »
