Maltese Jesuits to Fundraise for Salesian Missions in Haiti

In light of the tragic events which have put Haiti at the forefront of World media and global initiatives, the Maltese Jesuit Province will be dedicating Wednesday 10th of February to creating awareness and raising funds for the people of Haiti.

75% of the funds raised will go to the Salesians in Haiti, whose schools have been so badly hit, and who will still be there long after others have gone… Read more »

Sport “can make an effective contribution to peaceful understanding between peoples and to establishing the new civilization of love”. This sentence, first pronounced by John Paul II in 2000, was echoed today by Benedict XVI in a message addressed to Mgr. J. Haiti earthquake

Several religious were among the casualties — which are up to 170,000 according to the most recent count — from the Jan. 12 earthquake that struck Port-au-Prince.
