NEW APPOINTMENTS AT THE VATICAN

Benedict XVI appointed Archbishop Mauro Piacenza, 66, secretary of the Congregation for Clergy, as prefect of the same dicastery. A Vatican communiqué reported today that the Pope also appointed Archbishop Robert Sarah, 65, secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, as president of the Pontifical Council Cor Unum.

Volunteers’ Night: Homecoming 2010

Friday, October 8th, 2010 was Volunteer’s Night where young people who spent their summers in voluntary missions came together to share their experiences. RIMINI MEETING TO TAKE PLACE IN EGYPT

 

Ambrogio Pisoni The Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples, which ordinarily takes place annually in Rimini, Italy, will be organized in a similar way in Egypt. The event, which is sponsored by the Catholic lay Communion and Liberation Movement, will have its two-day Egypt edition Oct. 28-29 and will focus on the theme: “Beauty: Space of Dialogue.”
