The resurrection of Jesus Christ offers each one of us an opportunity, the opportunity of a new and eternal life. This depends on whether we are willing to let Jesus dwell in our hearts. In his Easter message, Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna encourages us not to fear opening our heart to Jesus. Jesus is humble and always invites us to: “Come and see” (Jn 1, 39).
Despite his victory over sin and death, Jesus still gives us the freedom to choose whether to follow him or to reject him. The Archbishop says that, “He does not impose himself on us, he respects our freedom, and this is the greatest moment of religious freedom. The Lord, in his risen glory, is an invitation to look and see the empty tomb.”
This Easter, “Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37, 4). Wishing you a blessed Eastertide.
