During an activity organised by Missio Malta at San Andrea School, children of different ages had the opportunity to learn about the value of diversity and the importance of appreciating one another. The activity marked the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, as part of a continuous programme of similar events that Missio Malta prepares to raise awareness about its missionary work.

Robert Farrugia, Head of Communications and Fundraising at Missio Malta, said that this programme of activities is central to Missio’s mission, as it brings the extensive work done by Missio volunteers around the world to young students and inspires them to continue along this path.

Nancy Caruana, the project coordinator, added that this outreach helps students learn about each other and appreciate one another more, especially in a globalised world.

The activity at San Andrea School was just the latest in a series of diversity-themed events that Missio Malta organises throughout the year in schools across Malta and Gozo.

These activities include informative exhibitions about the culture of the places where Missio operates, interactive games that encourage children to learn about local customs, as well as information about food and customs.
