Pope: Migrants are symbols of all those rejected by society

€687,795 raised during volleyball marathon in aid of Dar tal-Providenza

  • €687,795 were raised during the 11th edition of the Volleyball Marathon in aid of Id-Dar tal-Providenza that took place between Friday 5th and Sunday 7th July in the parking lot of the Siġġiewi Home. This sum included that of €378,226 which was collected during a special edition of Xarabank on June 28th on TVM.

    Forty young male and female players, coaches, referees, scorekeepers, medical doctors, physiotherapists and nurses challenged the persisting heat of the day and played fifty-three hours of non-stop Volleyball to raise much-needed funds for Id-Dar tal-Providenza…

11th edition of volleyball marathon in aid of Dar tal-Providenza kicks off

Pope celebrates Mass for Migrants

  • In memory of the 6th anniversary of his visit to Lampedusa, on Monday, 8 July, the Holy Father Pope Francis, will celebrate a Mass for Migrants, at 11:00, in St Peter’s Basilica. Around 250 people will participate in the celebration, among whom will be migrants, refugees and those who are dedicated to saving their lives.

    Taking part in the Mass, presided over by the Pope at the Altar of the Chair of St Peter, will be only those persons invited by the Migrants and Refugees Section of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development, to whom the Holy Father has entrusted the organization of the event…
