One giant leap for mankind

  • On the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing, Pope Francis said that with this achievement, mankind fulfilled an extraordinary dream and thus he hopes that the memory of “that great step for humanity” might spark the desire to reach even “greater goals” that will lead to “more dignity for the weak, more justice among peoples, and more future for our common home.”

X’inhi l-paga tal-Papa Franġisku?

  • As the leader of the Catholic Church in the entire world, one would assume that Pope Francis receives a generous salary in compensation for his many duties. However, the truth is quite the opposite.

    In 2001 there were rumors that St John Paul II made a decent salary, but the New York Times reported, “Vatican spokesman, Joaquín Navarro-Valls, ended speculation about the pope’s salary, saying, ‘The pope does not and has never received a salary.’”

Students’ garden plans for people with dementia at Casa Leone

  • Għadd ta’ studenti mill-Fakultà tal-Ambjent Mibni mill-Università ta’ Malta ppreżentaw diversi proposti biex isir ġnien għall-pazjenti bid-dimensja fid-dar tal-anzjani tal-Knisja ‘Casa Leone’ f’San Ġiljan. L-għan tal-proġett kien li l-istudenti jidentifikaw il-ħtiġijiet tal-anzjani u kif l-ispazji miftuħa jistgħu jtejbu l-ħajja tal-individwu fil-qasam tas-saħħa mentali u d-dimensja.
