Church statistics for Chile and Peru

  • Pope Francis will visit Chile and Peru from the 15th till the 22nd January 2018. In Chile, he will visit the capital Santiago, Temuco and Iquique and in Peru he will pass through Lima, Puerto Maldonado and Trujillo. It will be the pope’s sixth trip to Latin America. He has already been to Brazil, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Cuba, Mexico and he will visit Colombia in September of this year…

  • Thirty years have passed since the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) officially set foot in Malta through an Operational Partners Agreement with the Emigrants’ Commission, signed on December 2, 1987.

One in twelve Christians in the world are persecuted

  • In 2017, out of the 2.48 billion Christians in the world, 215 million suffered a degree of persecution ranging from “strong to extreme.”

The Lord’s invitation

  • In his Christmas message, Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna said that his wish for all of us is that Jesus truly enters in our hearts with his consolation but also with his precious word. “This Christmas, the Lord is inviting you to go to Church, to go to Mass, and to receive the Sacraments of Confession and the Eucharist”.
