The Gospel of the day: 9th May

  • Saint George Preca – Feast

    Saint Mark 16:14a.15-20

Afterward Jesus appeared to the eleven themselves as they sat at table and he said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptised will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went forth and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by the signs that attended it.

A Church sensitive to parents and their young children

An article by the Vicar General Mgr Joe Galea Curmi

  • Waħda mill-iktar esperjenzi ta’ niket kbir u ta’ tbatija hija dik tal-ġenituri li jitilfu xi ħadd minn uliedhom. Ħafna drabi t-tbatija tkun ikbar meta l-ulied ikunu għadhom żgħar. Hemm imbagħad ġenituri li jgħaddu minn esperjenza doloruża u iebsa ħafna meta t-tarbija tagħhom tmut fit-twelid, jew qabel it-twelid meta tkun għadha fil-ġuf.

Ikbar mhi t-tbatija, iktar għandhom isibu solidarjetà mill-Knisja.

    Il-Knisja tagħti attenzjoni speċjali lil dawn il-ġenituri u t-tarbija tagħhom…

    6 ta’ Mejju 2018

Tfal, fil-bidu ta’ din il-Quddiesa, għedtilkom li llum nixtieq inkellimkom fuq ir-rigali li jagħtina Ġesù. Imma x’’rigali jagħtina Ġesù? Illum fl-Evanġelju li għadu kemm qara l-Kappillan, Ġesù jsemmi ħwejjeġ sbieħ ħafna li jixtieq jagħtina. U tgħidluli: ‘Imma allura jien x’irrid nagħmel biex dawn ir-rigali tiegħu jkunu għandi wkoll, biex nirċevihom jien?’ Inkunu ħbieb tiegħu…

  • L-omelija tal-Arċisqof Charles J. Scicluna
  • Knisja Parrokkjali, Ħal Safi
    5 ta’ Mejju 2018

L-ewwel ħaġa li Ġesù jgħid lill-appostli hija: “Is-sliem għalikom” (Ġw 20:19). Din tfakkarna fil-kliem li fih qal fl-aħħar ċena: “Jiena nħallilkom is-sliem; nagħtikom is-sliem tiegħi; ma nagħtihulkomx kif tagħtih id-dinja” (Ġw 14:27), imma hija paċi differenti; hija l-paċi ta’ min jagħmel ir-rieda tal-Missier…
