Pope begins new catechesis cycle on baptism

  • Pope Francis began a new cycle of catecheses on baptism, explaining that it is the door to the other sacraments, whereby we grow in the life of grace until we come at last to our true homeland in heaven.

He also asked that Christians “appreciate the unmerited gift” they received on the day of their baptism. The pope also reminded that the Christian life is a journey of faith and union with the Lord, sustained by prayer and daily efforts to grow in the imitation of Christ.
