How a 7-year-old is taking care of the homeless in his neighborhood

  • When 7-year-old Jacob observed a group of homeless people huddled together in a scaffolding, he didn’t waste time. As soon as he arrived home, he dashed upstairs to make a poster seeking donations to fill 10 backpacks to give away. But now he’s collected enough items for no fewer than 130 backpacks.

    Jesus entered the synagogue. There was a man there who had a withered hand. They watched him closely to see if he would cure him on the sabbath so that they might accuse him. 

    He said to the man with the withered hand, “Come up here before us.” Then he said to them, “Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?” But they remained silent. 

    Looking around at them with anger and grieved at their hardness of heart, he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out and his hand was restored. 

    The Pharisees went out and immediately took counsel with the Herodians against him to put him to death…

Pope arrives in Chile

  • Restoration works on St John’s Co-Cathedral façade have been completed. The project included the main entrance, sides, belfry, clock and wind vane. This is the first time that the main façade of the co-cathedral underwent such a thorough restoration, which has an area of more than 2,000 square meters.
