Pope asks all European parishes to take in a refugee family

  • Pope Francis has called on European parishes and religious communities to offer shelter to a migrant family.

    The Pope’s appeal came during the Sunday Angelus. 

    “May Every parish, every religious community, every monastery, every sanctuary of Europe, take in one family” Pope Francis appealed.

    To the crowds gathered in St. Peter’s Square, the Pope said the faithful are called to offer a concrete gesture of hope as indicated in the Gospel…

  • L-Arċisqof Charles J. Scicluna ħatar lil Dun Valentino Borg bħala kappillan tal-parroċċa ta’ Ħal Kirkop.

    Dun Valentino Borg twieled fid-29 ta’ Diċembru 1954. Huwa rċieva l-edukazzjoni primarja fl-iskola ta’ Raħal Ġdid, l-edukazzjoni sekondarja fis-Seminarju tal-Arċisqof, u kompla l-istudji terzjarji (Filosofija u Teoloġija) fil-Fakultà tat-Teoloġija, fis-Seminarju, Tal-Virtù.

    Dun Valentino ġie ordnat saċerdot fid-11 ta’ Lulju 1981. Beda l-ħidma pastorali tiegħu bħala viċi-kappillan fil-parroċċa ta’ Ħal Tarxien (1981-1995), bħala kappillan fil-parroċċi ta’ Ħal Għargħur (1995-1998), l-Imġarr (1998-2003) u l-Imsida (2003-2006).

George Bugeja OFM, ġie kkonsagrat Isqof. Mons. Bugeja nħatar mill-Papa Franġisku bħala Isqof Koadjutur tal-Vigarjat Appostoliku ta’ Tripli, fil-Libja. Il-Quddiesa ġiet iċċelebrata fis-Santwarju Nazzjonali tal-Madonna Ta’ Pinu, Għawdex.

  • Il-Bord tad-Dħul Skejjel tal-Knisja jixtieq javża li ser jintlaqgħu applikazzjonijiet għal żewġ postijiet għal subien fl-ewwel sena sekondarja 2015-2016, fil-Kulleġġ ta’ Stella Maris, il-Gżira. L-applikazzjonijiet isiru nhar it-Tlieta, 15 ta’ Settembru 2015, fis-Segretarjat għall-Edukazzjoni Nisranija, 16, Triq il-Mall, il-Furjana, bejn id-9.00 ta’ filgħodu u nofsinhar.
