Religious freedom gets more lip service than guarantees, pope says

Religious freedom is talked about more than it is protected, Pope Francis said. “The serious violations inflicted on this basic right are causes of serious concern,” and the world’s nations must act together to uphold “the intangible dignity of the human person against every attack,” he said. Pope Francis reflected on the mercy of Christ during his Sunday Angelus address in St. Peter’s on Sunday. The Holy Father spoke on the theme given that the month of June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Help is needed for a fund-raising activity

A fundraising committee was set up in order to raise money in aid of Dar Qalb ta Ġesu, which helps survivors of domestic violence.

The first event will be a Family Fest Weekend that will be organised on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June 2013. This event will entail the selling of different stuff and products, food and entertainment from 9am till 10pm, on both days… Read more »

The saving mission of the Church

A hundred years ago, a Eucharistic Congress – an annual event in the Universal Church – was held in Malta. In these days we have been regaled with some photos and write-ups on the event on newspapers and other means of social communication.

When I think about the Eucharist, this phrase often comes to mind.
