RECOGNISING THE RISEN LORD

Our ability to recognize the Risen Lord through His Word and in the Eucharist was the focus of Pope Benedict XVI’s Regina Caeli reflections this third Sunday of Easter. Speaking in French he said in the same way the Risen Jesus appeared among the apostles, still today “the Savior assures us of his real presence among us through the Word and the Eucharist” and just as “He gave peace “to the disciples, “He is still gifting us His peace and opens up life to happiness and invites us to become His witnesses to the ends of the earth, in our world marked by evil and suffering, pain and fear”… Read more »

NEW PARISH PRIEST FOR LUQA PARISH

Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. has appointed Fr Gordon Refalo as the new parish priest of Luqa (St. Andrew).

Fr Gordon was born in Sliema in 1961. He received his education at the Sisters of St Joseph and at St Aloysius College, Birkirkara. In 1984 he entered the Archbishop’s Seminary and was ordained to the priesthood in 1991.

Saying civilian lives are at risk, Catholic leaders appealed to the international community to step up efforts to prevent full-scale war from erupting over disputed territory along the tenuous Sudan-South Sudan border.
