POPE’S PRAYER IN MAY: FOR DEFENSE OF THE FAMILY

Pope praying intentions during May

Benedict XVI is praying this month for the defense and promotion of the family.

The Apostleship of Prayer announced the intentions chosen by the Pope for May.

His general intention is “that initiatives which defend and uphold the role of the family may be promoted within society.”

And the Pontiff’s mission intention is “that Mary, Queen of the World and Star of Evangelization, may accompany all missionaries in proclaiming her Son Jesus.”

ARCHBISHOP CELEBRATES MASS IN THE TAL-HAWLI ZONE

On Thursday 26th April 2012, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. celebrated Mass in the Tal-Hawli Zone and afterwards met with the people. Later on, the Archbishop met the De La Salle Brothers in Vittoriosa and dined with them.

ARCHBISHOP VISITS MALTESE EMIGRANTS AND MISSIONARIES IN THE UNITED STATES AND CENTRAL AMERICA

Tomorrow, 3rd May 2012, Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. will leave Malta on a pastoral visit to Maltese emigrants in San Francisco, United States and to Maltese missionaries in Central America.

The Archbishop will arrive in California tomorrow, where he will be welcomed by the Maltese Consul, Mr Louis Farrugia and  members of the Maltese Community.  On Sunday 6th May, he will celebrate mass at the Cathedral dedicated to St Mary, in the city of San Francisco and attend several meetings with Maltese communities… Read more »

VATICAN CONDEMNS ANTI-CHRISTIAN ATTACKS IN KENYA, NIGERIA

The Vatican condemned what it called “terrorist” attacks on Christians in Kenya and Nigeria on Sunday which claimed around 20 lives and called for restraint against a cycle of violence.

“The new terrorist attacks in Kenya and Nigeria at Christian celebrations are horrible and despicable acts,” Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi said.

“We must be close to victims and communities that suffer just as they are peacefully celebrating a faith that wants love and peace for all,” he said… Read more »

A year ago Benedict XVI beatified his beloved predecessor to the See of Peter John Paul II in Saint Peter’s Square in front of the Basilica where a vast sea of pilgrims had gathered spilling beyond into the streets surrounding it.
