Matul il-ġimgħat li ġejjin, is-Segretarjat tal-Parroċċi flimkien mas-Segretarjat għal-Lajċi se jkun qed jorganizzaw tmien laqgħat ta’ talb għall-familji.

Dawn il-laqgħat huma indirizzati għall-Insara Maltin kollha u matulhom, lajċi, saċerdoti u reliġjużi se jkunu qed jiltaqgħu f’mumenti ta’ talb għall-familji kollha.

Il-laqgħat se jkunu jinkludu r-rużarju tal-familja u adorazzjoni Ewkaristika.

VATICAN COMMISSION TO DISCUSS CHALLENGES IN CHINA

The commission that Benedict XVI established in 2007 to study the major issues regarding the Church in China will meet this week in the Vatican.

The Vatican press office announced Saturday that the commission will hold a three-day meeting, beginning Monday.

The communiqué explained that the commission is constituted by “the heads of the dicasteries of the Roman Curia with competence in this area and by representatives of the Chinese episcopate and religious congregations.”

VATICAN PLANS PARISH SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES

Committees are needed to promote and defend families at the level of dioceses and parishes, according to representatives of the Vatican and Latin American bishops.

This was a conclusion from the March 29-31 meeting on the pastoral care of families held in Bogota. The president and secretary of the Pontifical Council for the Family, Cardinal Ennio Antonelli and Bishop Jean Laffitte, participated.

COMECE: EGYPT, CARD. NAGUIB “COUNTRY RENEWAL AT RISK”

“Widespread corruption, poverty, social crisis, and suffocating political atmosphere” were the causes for the demonstrations on 25 January according to Card. Antonios Naguib, Coptic Catholic Patriarch of Alexandria; those demonstrations originated the “renewal movement” of young people in Tahrir Square, which now “risks being obscured”. RETREAT BY THE INTERDIOCESAN COMMISSION FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

The Interdiocesan Commission for the Environment is organising a retreat for all those interested in spending a time of reflection on the responsibilities of the Catholic person towards the environment.
