L-Arċisqof Pawlu Cremona O.P. nnomina lil Fr Joe Borg biex ikun Direttur tal-Appostolat tal-Baħar.
Fr Borg twieled Ħal Qormi (Parroċċa San Bastjan) nhar is-7 ta’ Frar 1943. Irċieva l-edukazzjoni tiegħu fl-iskola primarja ta’ San Ġorġ, Ħal Qormi u fis-Seminarju Minuri. F’Ottubru tal-1962 beda l-kors tal-Filosofija u t-Teoloġija fl-Università ta’ Malta u ġie ordnat saċerdot fl-1970. Matul is-sena li għaddiet il-Knisja tat kontribut ta’ €546,000 biex tagħti servizz pastorali fit-Tribunal tagħha. L-ispiża tkopri ż-żewġ Tribunali li għandha l-Knisja f’Malta, jiġifieri dak tal-Ewwel Istanza u dak Reġjonali tal-Appell, jew kif jissejjaħ, dak tat-Tieni Istanza.
Fl-istess waqt, dawk li ngħataw servizz mit-Tribunal bejniethom taw kontribut li jlaħħaq il-€103,000, biex b’hekk il-Knisja tkun ħarġet sussidju ta’ ftit aktar minn €443,000 għall-operat tat-Tribunal fl-2010… Read more »

Following his catechesis during this morning’s general audience the Holy Father launched an appeal to the international community to help people suffering famine in the Horn of Africa.
“Dramatic news continues to arrive concerning the famine which has struck the Horn of Africa”, he said. “I greet Cardinal Robert Sarah, president of the Pontifical Council ‘Cor Unum’, and Bishop Giorgio Bertin O.F.M., apostolic administrator of Mogadishu, who are present at this audience with a number of representatives of Catholic charity organisations… Read more »
On the 4th October 2011, Fr Bernard Mangion MSSP, Superior General of the Missionary Society of St Paul, recieved a note from the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith that confirmed the decision of the Penal Administrative Process with regards to the case of Fr Conrad Sciberras MSSP. This says that “since moral certainty has not been attained that Fr Conrad Sciberras is being found guilty of having sexually abused a number of minors in the terms of current Jurisprudence”, a negative decision was given as to whether Fr Conrad Sciberras sexually abused minors… Read more »
The Secretariat for Social Communications organized a seminar intended for all those persons who are in some way involved in the production and/or presentation of religious and socio-religious programmes.
