BRITAIN CONSIDERS SEX EDUCATION FOR 5 YEAR OLDS

sexual education

Britain’s House of Commons is set to vote on legislation this week that would introduce a program of sex education to primary school children from as young as 5 years of age.

The “Children, Schools and Families Bill” also contains many other clauses which, critics say, is not so much a denial of Catholic teaching “as a whole uprooting of the natural law relationship between parents, children and the state.”

The bill, which Members of Parliament will vote on Tuesday, is causing widespread concern among United Kingdom priests and laity who see it as further erosion of legitimate freedoms… Read more »

Komunjoni

Hemm qegħdin magħna.

Huma bnedmin bħalna.

Huma ħutna, Mulej!

U aħna nħokku, immissu magħhom

u niltaqgħu magħhom

kull ħin ta’ kull jum!

Jokorbu. Jisktu.

Jittalbu. Jistennew bis-sabar kollu.

Jistennew sa ma jitherrew

u kull ma jifdlilhom

hu ftit tama.

Huma ċkejknin, Mulej,

u min jista’ jarahom, Mulej,

u min jista’ jismagħhom, Mulej? … Read more »

Xebħ

Il-Kelma tiegħek, Mulej,

hi l-preżenza

ta’ l-ispirtu ta’ aħwa,

lest biex jgħin

lil dawk imċaħħda

mid-dinjità u mill-ikel,

li jinsabu fl-ikbar miżerja!

Il-Kelma tiegħek, Mulej,

hi l-kompassjoni

li biha tfarraġ lil dawk

li għandhom il-futur imkisser

minħabba t-telfa

ta’ xi ħadd għażiż,

u t-toqol tas-sens ta’ ħtija… Read more »

POLITICS IS A “CALLING TO THE COMMON GOOD AND THE SALVATION OF SOCIETY”

Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone

“The political calling is a calling to the common good and the salvation of society. A good that cannot but be cast into the future. Young people are not, then, mere onlookers, they are the protagonists of politics, which cannot either look to the past or be flattened on to the present”. It was recalled this afternoon by card. Tarcisio Bertone, Vatican Secretary of State, as he spoke in Riccione at the yearly gathering of the politicians’ coordination “Rete Italia”… Read more »

MARRIAGE – BEST OPTION FOR A COUPLE, THEIR CHILDREN AND SOCIETY

Kull meta nitkellmu dwar statistiċi, irridu nżommu f’moħħna li qed nitkellmu dwar persuni f’sitwazzjonijiet, u li wkoll meta jkun hemm persentaġġ għoli, xorta jfisser li mhux kulħadd jidħol f’dik il-kategorija. Imma l-istatistika hija importanti, fost raġunijiet oħra biex ikollna idea tas-sitwazzjoni u jekk tinħass il-ħtieġa naraw xi prijoritajiet għandna u x’rimedji jinħtieġu jittieħdu. Dan kollu jfisser ukoll li mhu qed issir l-ebda forma ta’ kundanna għal min qiegħed f’sitwazzjoni li mhix mibnija fuq iż-żwieġ… Read more »

Fejqan

Il-ħars tagħna

ifittex id-difetti.

Jieqaf fuq in-nuqqasijiet.

Jgħaddi ġudizzju kif ifettillu.

Jagħmilha ta’ mħallef.

Jara biss dak

li jidher minn barra.

Dejjem għandu raġun.

Żgur minnu nnifsu.

Jiddeċiedi, bla ma jqis xejn,

min hu dak

li hu denn li jkun magħna

u min hu dak

li għandu jitwarrab… Read more »
