Bishop Grech presented with a memento by young people

On Friday, 16th July, 2010, the Diocesan Youth Commission (KDŻ) presented Bishop Mario Grech with a memento of Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to Malta. The presentation was made at a meeting between KDŻ Malta and KDŻ Gozo, at the Gozo Curia. The memento, a replica of the painting the Pope was given by the youth at the Valletta Waterfront, marks the close collaboration between the two Commissions on the preparations to the visit… Read more »

ARGENTINA RESISTS SAME-SEX ‘MARRIAGE’

Some 635,000 signatures in defense of marriage and family were presented to the Argentinean Senate, as legislators consider legalizing same-sex unions and adoption by same-sex couples.

Senator Liliana Negre de Alonso, president of the Senate’s General Legislation Commission, received Monday representatives of various institutions who handed her 524,000 signatures and a statement supported by more than 400 organizations. €174,770 COLLECTED IN AID OF THE MISSIONS RUN BY THE MISSIONARY SOCIETY OF SAINT PAUL

VATICAN STREAMLINES PROCESS FOR HANDLING ABUSE

With a 31-article document, the Vatican today streamlined the process for dealing with priests who sexually abuse minors, as well as clarifying and updating other procedures and crimes handled by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

Much of the content of the document, approved by Benedict XVI on May 21, was already in force.

The norms organize into one document faculties generally granted to the congregation over the years since the 2001 apostolic letter “Sacramentorum Sanctitatis Tutela,” which outlined the norms for addressing cases of “gravioribus delictis” (grave crimes)… Read more »
