The Pope is leading an assembly of children in west London on day two of his four-day state visit to the UK, which is the seventeenth apostolic trip of his pontificate. After prayers Benedict XVI travelled in his popemobile through the grounds of St Mary’s University College in Twickenham.

FIRST PROFESSION OF BROTHER CARMEL SPITERI AMONG THE TERESIAN CARMELITES

EUROPEAN HERITAGE DAYS: 26 SEPTEMBER

The Holy See will once again participate  in the celebration of European Heritage Days, an initiative of the Council of Europe in which more than 50 countries on the continent take part. The celebrations this year will take place on Sunday 26 September and have as their theme: “European Heritage for Inter-cultural Dialogue”.

A communique made public explains that the Pontifical Commission for the Cultural Patrimony of the Church, the Vatican Museums and the Pontifical Commission of Sacred Archaeology are all collaborating in the event… Read more »

INDUCTION SEMINAR FOR NEWLY ENGAGED TEACHING STAFF IN CHURCH SCHOOLS

On Wednesday 15th September, 2010, the Directorate for Services in Education at the Secretariat for Catholic Education of the Archbishop’s Curia held an Induction Seminar for some seventy newly engaged teachers who, later this month, will embark on their teaching profession in Church schools.

THE ARCHBISHOP CELEBRATES ‘MALTA DAY IN THE UK’

On Saturday, 11th September, 2010, the annual celebration of ‘Malta Day UK’ was held in Westminster, London. This event is popular amongst the Maltese community residing in the U.K.
