In the light of recent developments and bearing in mind that what was stated by His Holiness Pope Frances yesterday at Lampedusa, we, the Maltese bishops wish to appeal to the Civil Authorities of Malta to safeguard the dignity of every person who reaches our shores, to fulfill Malta’s obligations in the international arena and to uphold a policy of hospitality…

Matthew 9,32-38
They had only just left when suddenly a man was brought to him, a dumb demoniac. And when the devil was driven out, the dumb man spoke and the people were amazed and said, ‘Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.’ But the Pharisees said, ‘It is through the prince of devils that he drives out devils.’ Jesus made a tour through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and curing all kinds of disease and all kinds of illness…
On Sunday 7th July 2013, the Archbishop met with players, residents and volunteers during the BOV Volleyball Marathon in aid of Dar tal-Providenza. The 53 hours non-stop volleyball Marathon, which was held at the Car Park of the same Dar tal-Providenza came to an end at midnight on Saturday.
