  • As years rolled by, RTK established itself as one of the most followed stations on the island, especially for news coverage and discussion programmes. The Newsroom today remains the main hub of activity for more than 12 hours a day, broadcasting information and news on the hour, under the tactful guidelines of the present Manager News, veteran journalist Leonard Callus.

Survey after survey confirmed RTK’s standing as the second most popular radio station on the island, with the Newsroom regularly acclaimed for its reliability for information. RTK’s success was undoubtedly partly due to the stamina and commitment of past Chairpersons of RTK radio, notably Fr Joe BorgManni SpiteriFr Nicholas Cachia,Victor Formosa and Franco Azzopardi who brought with them a wealth of experience, and who through their insight and professionalism, contributed in many ways to enhance the station’s standing within the wide spectrum of broadcasting in Malta.

RTK radio is today a household name. Over the years it has maintained its position among female listeners and has the third largest male audience.

Its programme schedule is geared to cater for different tastes and ages. RTK radio is ever striving to achieve its declared mission, which is that of providing a holistic service to its listeners from the Christian perspective. It seeks to be at the service of the community, and more precisely perhaps, of the Word. This is perhaps what makes RTK different from other radio stations in Malta.
