French pilgrims take interest in the work of the Church in Malta

  • On Friday, 19th October 2018, a group of around 25 pilgrims from the diocese of Montauban in France, visited the Archbishop’s Curia where they celebrated Mass and later met with Auxiliary Bishop Joseph Galea-Curmi. They also had the opportunity to understand the pastoral reality of the Archdiocese of Malta and the work being underataken by the Church in society.

Synod Day 21: We must ask for forgiveness

  • The Synod Fathers had Monday off while the first draft of the Synod document was being finalised. This draft will be presented at the General Assembly on Tuesday morning. The draft will be debated on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday the Synod Fathers will have a day off while a final draft is being prepared. Joint statement by the Secretariat for Catholic Education and the UPE

  • A meeting was held on Friday 19th October 2018, between the Secretariat for Catholic Education and the Union for Professional Educators (UPE). Both parties clarified that when issues arise, the UPE will first contact the head of school and both parties will address the matter. If the issue is not resolved, the UPE will then contact the Secretariat which will work with the school and the UPE to resolve the issue.

    In view of this development, the Secretariat is initiating legal procedures to withdraw the inhibitory injunction and the UPE is withdrawing its directives in Church schools with immediate effect…

Pope appoints Nobel Physics laureate as member of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences
